Dr. Ammr Alhoussan

Al-Houssan excelled in his studies at RCSI. He held a number of leadership positions. In his final three years, he served as a Class Representative. For two years, he served on the Emergency Society's committee, as well as the Surgical Society's Surgical Techniques Tutor, where he taught students the fundamentals of suturing and laparoscopic skills.

Al-Houssan also participated in extensive research at RCSI, which allowed him to become a co-author and contributor to peer-reviewed scientific papers. He took part in cat allergy testing for over three years. He collaborated with Red Maple Trials in Ottawa to verify the city's first naturalistic cat allergy exposure chamber. The findings were published in European Respiratory Journal and Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology.

Al-Houssan graduated from RCSI in 2019 at the age of 24. His grades, tests, and scores placed him in the top 15% of his class. He received his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery, and Bachelor of Obstetrics and Gynecology (MB, BCh, BAO) with honors after graduation.

Al-Houssan excelled in his degree while simultaneously completing various medical licensure exams outside of his usual curriculum for both Canada and the United States, all of which he passed with a score above the national average. He scored in the 99th percentile on the National Assessment Collaboration assessment of Objective Structured Clinical Examination (NAC OSCE) of Canada, which assessed the fitness of non-Canadian medical school graduates.
